Use Castin’ Craft FastCast™ | Urethane Casting Resin to create adorable FastCast resin magnets! A great project for trying ETIs FastCast resin.
Hey Resin Crafters! Amber Oliver here with another great resin craft. Today I’m sharing my FIRST project using Castin’ Craft FastCast™ | Urethane Casting Resin. Holy moly why did I wait so long to try this stuff!? FastCast is perfect for anyone who is impatient like me! It only takes 10 minutes to cure!!
Once cured, FastCast can be drilled, sanded, shaped and painted. The most important thing about working with FastCast is you have to be FAST! Like SUPER fast! We always mention working quickly when working with resin but I really mean it here! You only have TWO MINUTES! Let’s make some FastCast Resin Magnets!
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR FASTCAST RESIN MAGNETS:
- Castin’ Craft FastCast™ | Urethane Casting Resin
- Mold
- Mixing Cups
- Stir Sticks
Step 1: Before you begin mixing, make sure your work space is set up and your mold is ready! You have to work VERY FAST!
Step 2: Like other ETI Resins, FastCast is a two part mixture. You’ll mix EQUAL parts of Part A and Part B and immediately begin gently stirring for 30 seconds.
Step 3: Immediately pour the mixture into a new cup and stir for an additional 30 seconds. This step ensures your mixture is completly mix together!
Step 4: Your mold should be ready to go so pour in immediately – DO NOT WAIT!
Step 5: The mixture in the mold will almost immediately start turning white! This means it’s working!
Step 6: After about 10 minutes, your project will be completely cured and you can remove them from the mold!
Step 7: You can now paint your pieces!
Step 8: Glue a magnet on the back!
I hope this project inspires you to try Castin’ Craft FastCast™ | Urethane Casting Resin and create your own FastCast resin magnets!
