Fragment Earrings With Jewelry Resin

I think these earrings are perfect for summertime!
This is day four of my week of posts dedicated to Stampendous! products and our collaboration with Jewelry Resin!
The Stampendous design team all received Jewelry Resin and a number of other goodies to work with.
I was very attracted to the fragments in the Stampendous catalogue.  The rose and sage are lovely.
These fragments were very new to me so I wanted to see how they would work with resin….and as you can see from my projects this week, they are a wonderful inclusion.
I got this earring mold from Resin Obsession.  It is a very shallow mold, so in this case I poured Jewelry Resin into the openings and waited 30 minutes for the resin to set up a little.  Then I placed my flakes by hand (not just shaking from the bottle), knowing they would sink into the resin nicely.
They looked great when they popped out of the mold.  I did do a little sanding to clean up an edge or two.
Pretty!
My last step was to add some jewelry components to make them wearable.
I think they are very unique.  Now that I look at them I wonder how they would have turned out if I had also added some of the metallic flakes….more experiments to come!
To get links to the Stampendous products I am using you can see everything on Sunday’s blog post.

I have a sneaking suspicion, Carmi, that this collaboration between you and the STM team, is going to cause a few addictions to resin…including me! These earrings are wonderful. I have to go shopping for molds, etc.

Fantastic! I must try this. When you say you sanded, what type of file did you use? Did you wait until the resin was completely dry? Do you have any tips? Thank you.
