Marbled Ring Dish made with Easy Sculpt DIY
Hi Resin Crafters, it’s Natalie from Doodlecraft, sharing a quick and stunning marbled ring dish made with resin. This marbled ring dish is perfect for stashing rings by the sink while doing dishes or adorning the vanity filled with baubles. The best part of this unique craft is the marbled finish with a gold edging…and it just takes a few minutes of work time. Make a marbled ring dish with Easy Sculpt resin trimmed in gold for a gift or the perfect ring storage solution.
Supplies Needed:
Easy Sculpt Epoxy Modeling Clay
Cornstarch or Baby Powder
Bowl
Plastic Wrap
Marbling Paint
Gold Paint
Paintbrushes
Disposable Gloves and Work Surface
Small Paper Cup (5 oz)
Begin the project by covering the underside of the dish in a layer of clear plastic wrap. Then pull it as snug as possible to remove any wrinkles.
Next mix the Easy Sculpt clay with one part of each tub, mix until the clay is completely incorporated.
Then sprinkle some cornstarch over the ball of Easy Sculpt, this will make the clay soft and not sticky.
Next, flatten the ball into a smooth disk, do not worry about making it round or even, the jagged look is great.
Then place the Easy Sculpt on the top of the plastic wrap on the bowl. Set aside the clay overnight to let the clay cure and harden.
Next day peel the cling wrap from the bowl to remove the Easy Sculpt dish. It should be hard and hold its shape.
Next it’s time to marble the ring dish. This Marbling paint from Plaid Crafts is awesome and easy to use.
Drop the marbling paint in the paper cup with a bullseye technique.
Then pour the cup out into the resin ring dish.
Then pick up the dish and rock it around to move the paint all around the inside of the dish. Work over a disposable surface in case it drips off the edges.
Then set the dish inside a box and cover with a lid to keep bugs and dust out while it dries. Let the paint dry and cure for a week. It will dry in a day or 2, but real curing takes longer.
Next use the gold paint and small paintbrush to add a small trim of gold around the edge of the marbled ring dish as pictured.
Give as a gift, fill with rings, add it to the decor–you will love how this marbled ring dish turns out!
