The Resin Week

I like to start my week with a new project.
Over the weekend I cut out and then glued my paper images to fit these brass bezels.  I protected the paper with three coats of Mod Podge.  Then I added some glitter glue to all the edges.  Our house is air conditioned and my studio is quite cool at the moment, so I am giving everything a little extra time to dry.
Today I’ll work on adding some embellishments and then I’ll do a “partial pour”.  A partial pour means filling these bezels with Envirotex Lite to about the 1/2 to 2/3 mark.  If I was to fill them right to the brim I would not have the chance to do a few extra things like I will show you later this week.

I'm looking forward to seeing what more you plan to do with these bezels.

Your work is really exciting to me — I haven't actually gotten into this type thing much but I'm looking forward to doing so and you are really helping me know how to proceed. Thanks so much!!

    Hi Carmi –
I ordered up some mold-making goodness thanks to your inspiration last week. I can't wait to experiment! Thanks for sharing such good photos and descriptions. It actually makes me feel like I can do it. 🙂
