Instructions

  • Add equal parts resin and hardener to the mixing cup. Each snowflake will need about 1 oz of resin. Stir the resin mixture together with a stir stick for two minutes, making sure to scrape the bottom and sides of the mixing cup as you go. If the resin mixture is cloudy, you will need to keep stirring until it becomes clear. Add a generous amount of white glitter or Diamond Dust Metallic Resin Powder into the resin cup and mix together well until completely combined.
  • Slowly pour the resin into the mold until it reaches the top. Be careful not to overfill. Wait a few minutes for the bubbles to rise to the top, and then blow through a straw or spritz the resin with alcohol to remove surface bubbles. Leave the resin to cure in an undisturbed area for 24 hours.
  • Next, carefully remove the snowflakes from the molds. Cut away any over-poured epoxy using scissors or a craft knife, if necessary.
  • Prepare 1oz (per coaster) of Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast according to package directions. Leave the resin clear this time. Place the snowflakes face-down in the center of the coaster mold, and pour the epoxy on top. Use a heat gun, by blowing through a straw, or lightly spritz the molds with 91% alcohol to remove surface bubbles. Leave the resin to cure in an undisturbed, well ventilated area for at least 4 hours. DO NOT REMOVE THE RESIN FROM THE COASTER MOLDS!
  • Prepare 2oz (per coaster) of Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast according to package directions. Add in a generous amount of blue glitter to the resin mixture and stir well until evenly combined.
  • Pour the resin into the mold over the snowflake, and fill it the rest of the way. After about 10 minutes, use a heat gun, blow through a straw, or lightly spritz the molds with 91% alcohol to remove surface bubbles. Leave the resin to cure in an undisturbed, well ventilated area for 24-72 hours.
  • Carefully remove the coasters from the molds. Remove any over-poured epoxy with scissors, and sand down the edges if necessary. If you do sand the resin, you can re-seal it with Resin Spray.
