Directions to Make Resin Coffee Cup Keyring

Step One

EasyCast is a two component, low odor, solvent free, clear casting epoxy. It’s ideal for casting small  items like this one. Mix your ClearCast Epoxy (2 oz should be plenty) thoroughly. Be sure to wear gloves to protect your hands. Pour it into the mold, just below the rim. Because you are going to be adding glitter, leave a tiny bit of space.

Step Two

Add a bit of glitter. Use the stir stick to spread it around the way you would like it but know that it might shift a little as the resin sets. The PolyColor Resin Glitter particles will reflect light from all angles. Let this cure and harden. I like to give it a good 24 hours.

Adding Glitter to Resin in a Mold

Once it is totally ready, it will pop right out of the mold. This just might be one of the most rewarding parts of the project.

Step Three

To add details and personality to your resin coffee cup keyring, add some twine to the lid. Apply a thin layer of Ultra Seal then wrap the twine. Apply another layer of Ultra-Seal on top and let it dry.

Because there is an indented heart in this mold, it is perfect for adding a little FastCast resin to paint. Mix a tiny amount and pour it in then let it harden. It is great because it happens quickly. Be sure to wear gloves and craft with safety in mind. Once the FastCast has cured, paint the heart pink with an acrylic paint.

Step Four

The last step is to turn your work into the keyring. Add the keyring hardware (jump ring and keyring). If desired, add a tassel too. I added my pool fob too.
