Make fun and playful resin confetti earrings using EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy and colorful acetate paper!
Hey Resin Crafters! Amber Oliver here with another great resin craft! This month in the Resin Crafts Facebook group, we were challenged to create DIY jewlery using resin. Some of my favorite resin projects are my resin statement earrings and these super fun alcohol ink pendants! I love finding new items to work with in resin and for this project I tried acetate paper. It worked perfectly and way better than paper! Because the acetate paper is a kind of plastic, it suspends perfectly in the resin and looks GREAT!
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR RESIN CONFETTI EARRINGS:
- EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy
- Earring Molds
- Colorful Acetate Paper
- Scissors
- Paper Slicer
- Mixing Cups
- Stir Sticks
- Gloves
Step 1: The confetti is easy to make using a paper slicer. Cut long thin strips from the acetate paper, then use scissors to cut tiny little confetti pieces!
Step 2: Now time to prepare the EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy. This is a multi-step process so don’t start mixing until you are ready to do the whole process from beginning to end!
Start by mixing EQUAL parts of the Hardener and the Resin.Stir for two minutes (be sure to scrape the bottoms and sides) then pour from the first cup into a second and mix with a new stir stick for another minute.
Step 3: Now, add the confetti to your resin! Alternatively you can add the confetti once it’s in the mold – your choice!
Step 4: Carefully pour into your mold.
Step 5: After enough time has passed for the resin to cure, you can remove the earrings from their molds!
Step 6: Lastly, add on your jewelry hardware!
I hope this project inspires you to create your own resin confetti earrings! Use the colors of your choice and customize for any occasion: holiday, sporting events, etc.
