You can make a DIY fishbowl necklace with resin and a few supplies. These cute necklaces are perfect for kids or even adults that want to add a touch of whimsy to their jewelry choices. For those that love goldfish, these are absolutely the perfect accessory! Plus, they are easy to make so follow along below and make a few for yourself!
Supplies needed to make a goldfish necklace:
- EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy
- Mixing Cups
- Measuring Cups
- Stir Sticks
- Protective Gloves
- Mini globe containers with corks
- Eye hooks
- Miniature goldfish
- Necklace chain
How to make a fishbowl necklace:
Start by measuring and mixing your 2 part epoxy resin. You will want to wear protective gloves and follow all instructions that come in the box. One of the main reasons for resin failures is this part of the process. You will then add the mixed resin to a small measuring cup. These bend more and will make pouring into our small containers easier.
Bend the cup to pour a little resin into the bottom of each of your globe containers.
You will also need to prop them up so they sit upright. I found this paint palette worked great!
TIP: Leave the excess resin in a cup and check it periodically. You can use it as a gauge to see if the resin is cured enough to drop in your fish.
Once the resin has started to set up, you can drop in your fish and arrange it however you would like. If you drop this too early, it will sink to the bottom. But you want to drop before it sets up completely so that the sticky resin will hold it in place. Use needle nose pliers and even a needle to arrange everything.
Then allow to set up completely making sure your jars are upright.
Once set, measure and mix some more resin and do another pour. This time you will want to make sure the level is wherever you want it for your completed project. Once again allow to cure completely.
Then you can add the eye hooks to the corks by screwing them into the top.
Add the corks to the top of the bottles and thread in a necklace chain to complete your fishbowl necklace.
I did not worry about bubbles for this project as I felt they would add to the look in this case. It makes it look more like water in a fish bowl!
So, grab your goldfish and add them to a necklace!
You are going to love how this little guy looks around your neck.
Just a fish swimming in his bowl while you wear him around your neck! Everyone will love this cute necklace idea.
So, will you make a DIY fish bowl necklace for yourself or even to give as a gift? You are sure to love the results!

This is such an adorable project! Even though I never had one myself, goldfish seem like the instant go-to fish that everyone knows, so they seem nostalgic even if you didn’t have your own. I can’t believe how much those little bottles look like actual fish bowls, too! ☺️

Do you need to hot glue the cork in to make sure they don’t pop off or should they be fin just plugged back in?
Lydi
It should be fine just plugged back in!
