It is easy to make a Halloween eyeball necklace for a spooky addition to your fall wardrobe. These little eyeballs floating in a small jar will look great hanging from your neck. You might even want to make one for you and one to give as a gift! If you know someone that loves all things Halloween, this is definitely the gift for them.
Supplies to make a Halloween eyeball necklace:
- EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy
- Universal Transparent Dye in green
- Candy eyes
- Small bowl necklace
- Necklace chain
- Jewelry glue
- Jump ring
- Jewelry pliers
- Measuring cups
- Mixing cup
- Stir sticks
- Protective gloves
How to Make a Halloween Eyeball Necklace
Add your candy eyeballs to the mini bowl. You will want to add these so that they are pointed out and you can see them from the outside. You can use something like jewelry pliers to move them around as needed.
These will need to stay upright while the resin cures. I put mine in a paint tray but you can use whatever you have on hand.
Then mix your resin according to the package directions. Be sure to measure carefully and follow all mixing directions on the package. You will also want to wear protective gloves when working with resin. It is important to follow all package directions for success with resin.
Tint the mixed resin with a few drops of the transparent dye and mix well.
Then pour the green-tinted resin into your small bowls until the eyes are completely covered. I did not worry about any bubbles in this case as I think they add to the overall look of this project.
Allow these to cure completely then add the tops with a dab of jewelry glue. Then allow the glue to dry. I find that the glue makes the tops more secure on this project.
Once dry, add the necklace chain with a jump ring using jewelry pliers.
Then your Halloween eyeball necklace is ready to wear!
Spooky, cute, and easy to make! That is my kind of Halloween craft idea!
Will you be sporting a Halloween necklace this fall? These are the perfect addition to your outfit for work on Halloween or as an extra accent for a Halloween party.
It is actually easy to make more than one of these while you are mixing your resin so be sure to get enough supplies for a few! Then give them to friends as they will love a Halloween eyeball necklace as well.
