Use ETI’s EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy to create custom, colorful DIY door pulls!

Hey Resin Crafters! Amber Oliver here with another great resin craft. Door pulls are used for cabinets and even DIY serving trays and they can get expensive! Especially if you are using them frequently for DIY projects or are needing them for a ton of cabinets in a room. One way to save a bit of money is to create your own custom DIY door pulls!

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR RESIN DIY DOOR PULLS

  • 4 oz of ETI EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy
  • Door Pull Molds
  • Polycolor Resin Powder
  • Mixing Cups and Stir Sticks

Step 1: First, prepare the EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy. This is a multi-step process so don’t start mixing until you are ready to do the whole process from beginning to end! Start by mixing EQUAL parts of the Hardener and the Resin.

Stir for two minutes (be sure to scrape the bottoms and sides) then pour from the first cup into a second and mix with a new stir stick for another minute until no swirls appear.

Step 2: Once the resin is ready, pour into two separate cups. ETI EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy has a 20-30 minute work time which should give you plenty of time to mix up your colors!

Step 3: Add in a tiny amount of polycolor resin powder and stir thoroughly! Start by adding a tiny amount – a little goes long way! You can gradually add more until you see the colors you want!

Step 4: Pour the resin very, very gently to fill the mold. Be as careful as you can, but just wipe away any excess if you spill!

Step 5: After about 15 minutes pop any bubbles that have come to the surface with a heat gun or kitchen torch. Allow the resin to cure for 24 – 72 hours (climate dependent), then you can remove from the mold! Your completed DIY door pulls will be super durable and have a gorgeous high-gloss finish!

If any of your sides are uneven or have a “lip” you can use a piece of sandpaper to gently even them out. A quick coat of ETI Resin Spray & Sealer will gloss the surface back to a shine!
