Resin Flower Cabochon Jewelry with EasyMold + FastCast

Hi Resin Crafters, it’s Natalie from Doodlecraft with another fun and quick resin craft! Resin flower cabochons are so cute and simple. They make the perfect jewelry set, great for gifts. Make a resin flower cabochon mold and cast as many of these little delicate flowers as you wish. Supplies Needed for Mold Making:

EasyMold Silicone Putty

Flower Cabochons (ironic, right?)This process works great if you have a pair of earrings you already love…or just want to make more of them. The silicone putty comes in 2 tubs, one white and one is purple.

Begin by mixing equal parts of each tub together.

Continue mixing until it is smooth and purple, no marbling like picture below.

Once completely mixed, there’s just a few short minutes of mold making time, so be sure to have everything close and ready to go.

Press the ball down flat, until it’s about 1/2 inch thick or so.

Then press the cabochons right into the putty.

Then let the putty sit for about 30 minutes until firm.

After curing the cabochons will come out of the mold effortlessly…revealing a perfect flower cabochon mold.

Supplies Needed for Casting Flower Cabochons:

FastCast Urethane Casting Resin

Transparent Dyes in Green and Blue

2 small Mixing cups, 2 stirring sticks

Cabochon Mold (made from instructions above or purchased on amazon link)

FastCast does exactly what it says. It casts fast! Begin by setting up the workspace and ensuring everything is ready.

Begin by putting one drop of green and one drop of blue translucent dyes in the mixing cup.

Then add 1/2 tsp of bottle A and 1/2 tsp of bottle B and mix them with a stick for 1 full minute. Next transfer the resin to a separate mixing cup and stir with a new stick for 30 seconds.

After mixing, pour quickly into the mold.

Then tap the mold on the table surface to help all the bubbles come to the surface. The resin will begin to set in just a few minutes. Let the mold sit for 15 minutes while the resin cures.

Supplies Needed for Jewelry Making:

E6000 Glue

Flat Stud Earring backs

Flat Adjustable Ring

Now turn the resin flower cabochons into beautiful pieces of jewelry by adhering the jewelry hardward to the resin with E6000 glue. Let the glue dry for 4 hours.

Then this beautiful jewelry is ready to wear. It’s easy to make different colored sets, great for gifts or just for fun!Make resin flower cabochon jewelry using EasyMold to make your own silicone mold and then FastCast and dyes to make as many varieties as your heart desires.

Would love to know where you bought the original rose earrings that you put into the mold to form it?

I just had some resin flowers on hand, life of a crafter I guess! Not sure where they came from, but I’d check amazon. 🙂
