Custom Pens made with Easy Sculpt Modeling Epoxy Clay

Hi Resin Crafters, it’s Natalie from Doodlecraft sharing a fun Back-to-School craft making custom pens. These custom pens are made with Easy Sculpt clay and are refillable! Design pens to look like lightsabers, magic wands or other iconic items. What will your custom pen look like?Custom Pens made with EasySculpt Modeling Epoxy Clay and painted to look like lightsabers or magic wands. School supplies are my favorite part of this time of year…and customizing supplies is so much fun! Custom Pens made with EasySculpt Modeling Epoxy Clay and painted to look like lightsabers or magic wands. Perfect for back-to-school supplies! #resincrafts #easysculpt

Supplies Needed:

  • Easy Sculpt
  • Cornstarch
  • Cheap Pens
  • Paint/Paintbrushes

Pick pens that are easy to refill, that way all the work you put into designing a pen won’t be wasted when the ink runs out. Make sure the ink refill pulls out from the tip. The cheapest pens are usually perfect for this.

Begin by using scissors to clip the stick off the lid.

Then mix up the Easy Sculpt clay by getting equal parts of each container and mixing them together.

The chemical reaction will begin and warm the clay up. Use cornstarch to keep it from being so sticky. Mix until the clay is thoroughly incorporated.

Next take pieces of the clay and roll them around the pens and the lids. Leave a gap on the end of the pen so the lid fits back on when it’s dry. Then set the pens in some cornstarch and let them cure overnight, rolling them smooth every 30 minutes for the first couple hours.

After they have dried, use a hobby knife to scrape out any clay that is inside the lid, so it will close properly.

Now it’s time to get painting!

Use acrylic craft paint and paintbrushes to decorate the pens. This is the perfect time to have the kids help!

The paint dries especially fast!

That’s it!

Now the pens are ready to use and play with! They make writing time and note taking much more fun!

Which is your favorite? What kind of custom pen will you make?
