One of the most common questions we get over in our Facebook group is how to you create your own resin mold. There are so many ways to create resin molds of all shapes, sizes and dimensions with EasyMold and Mold Builder. With this being such a hot topic, we have done 2 Facebook Live demonstrations on creating molds… one with EasyMold Silicone Putty and one with Liquid Latex Mold Builder. We also have a great tutorial on molds, along with an explanation of the different types of molds that you can find here.

Finding molds for resin casting for oddly shaped or unique items can be quite challenging, so making your own resin molds is the way to go! It’s also a perfect solution for replicating important items like a missing chess piece or a family heirloom.

You can create a mold for just about anything, even 3D shapes. There are several different products you can use to make molds, depending on what you’re looking to make of a mold of and what you’re planning to use it for. DIY molds don’t have to just be for resin casting, there are so many fun things you can make with your mold creations. One thing to note, if you plan to use a DIY mold for food, reserve it for food use only.

Here are some fun examples of DIY molds and just a sampling of the numerous ways that they can be used. Make sure to check out the Liquid Latex Mold Builder Video to see a great example of mold making with that product!
